Why I Wrote “Power of Truth”

As the launch of my book, “Power of Truth: Overcoming 25 Years of Darkness,” approached, anxiety began to increase in my heart. How will people respond? Will the book have a major impact? Will my voice be heard? Will I see the reward of all the hours and prayers that were put into this book? I am grateful to my husband who knows how to help me center myself when my emotions start to interfere and cloud my intentions. My husband reminded me that my original intent was for this book to be an offering.

God gave the most precious gift one can give to another person, which is a life. So I am offering my life’s story with the intent to help those who are or were in a cult and prevent others from getting caught up. I don’t need to be distracted by the other things that were flooding my mind. Although my team and I are doing all we can to spread awareness of the book and the issues it brings to light, my true purpose has already been accomplished the day the book became live for purchase.

My intent is to offer living proof that you can survive the deepest, most hurtful traumas and move on to live a good, peaceful life. So in this book, I offer the greatest gift that I can give to you, which is the story of my life and how I overcame what could have been a life long state of bondage, despair and sadness. This website offers tools under the Resources section on how to take the first steps to identify if you are part of a cult organization. The day I learned that I escaped from a cult was a tough day: I still remember how it sent chills down my spine. I used a tool similar to Dr Hassan’s BITE model which was helpful to me identifying what I escaped from
